
Bulls Have Success at Youngstown State Invitational

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - The University at Buffalo men's tennis team competed this weekend at the Youngstown State Invitational and had success as most of the team competed in the two-day event.
After dropping his first match of singles action, Simon Wibler responded with a 6-2, 6-4 victory on Saturday afternoon before concluding singles play with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 win on Sunday. Cheng Tang won a pair of three-set matches 2-6, 6-4, 10-8 and 5-7, 6-2, 10-4 before falling 6-7, 6-1, 10-3 in his final match of the weekend. Daniils Snaiders had a great weekend winning both of his matches, 6-4, 6-4 and 6-3, 6-3, respectively. Yu-Shiang Huang opened with a pair of victories, 6-1, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-4, before dropping his final match of the event while Greg Hastings won his opening matches 6-3, 7-6 (4) and 6-3, 6-4 before falling in his final match on Sunday.
Also competing for the Bulls in singles play were freshman Theodoros Mitsakos and Ryan Thompson who went 1-2 overall on the weekend.
In doubles action, the Bulls were led by Wibler and Hastings who went a perfect 3-0 on the weekend. Snaiders and Mitsakos went 2-1 while Tang and Huang finished 1-2.
The Bulls will be back in action next weekend the ITA Regionals, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.
