
Track and Field Prepare for Busy Weekend

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo track and field team gears up for a busy weekend as they will compete at the Cornell Upstate Invite and Bucknell Bison Invite. The Cornell Upstate Invite is on Saturday, Jan. 29 with the Bucknell Bison Invite starting Friday, Jan. 28 and going through the 29th.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend the Bulls competed at the Youngstown State Collegiate Invite and Penn State National many performances marked personal bests and some UB top-10 results. Chineme Ononiwu is now 10th all-time in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.19-seconds. Zaria Fuller continued to have a break-through season, winning the women's long jump in a new personal best of 18'-9" (5.71m). Her mark moves her to 10th on the UB all-time records list and ranks her seventh in the MAC. Brandon Burke won the high jump in a season best 2.17-meters/7'-01.50", just 1" off his lifetime best. Burke ranks first in the MAC and is tied for seventh in the NCAA. Thomas Flannery shaved another second off his mile personal best to run a very strong 4:07.88 placing third overall. He is ranked second in the MAC and just short of Crimmins' 2016 record of 4:07.45. In the men's 3,000-meter run, Alex Hislop had a big personal best and placed eighth of the 11-man field in 8:27.20. Hislop's time moves him to eighth on the UB all-time top-10 list.
