
Bashor Earns 150th Career Win in Senior Day Victory

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo women's swimming and diving team (5-0, 3-0 MAC) defeated the Cleveland State Vikings (1-3) by a score of 167-82. The team showed their best on senior day to make sure the graduating class went out with a victory.
THE POOL
Nothing was going to stop the Bulls against the Vikings on Saturday afternoon. UB won 15 of the 16 events. To top the day off, today's victory marked Head Coach Andy Bashor's 150th career win at Buffalo.
The Bulls were on a rampage to start the day in the 200 medley relay. Mia Naccarella, Michaela Morgus, Roitenberg, and Jillian Lawton won the event in a time of 1:44.22. The squad of Allison Stockwell, Jenna Krull, Katie Pollock, and Lena Li finished in second with a time of 1:48.35. The Bulls wouldn't stop there as Ellie Duley, Keasey Keaney, Maddy McDonough, and Clarice Fisher would finish in third place less than a second behind for a time of 1:49.26.
Toni Naccarella won the 200 freestyle in 1:51.27 with Marij van der Mast finishing in second in 1:52.29 and Maddy Rogan completing the podium finish for third in 1:54.66.
Roitenberg had a great senior day as she would win the 100 backstroke in 56.00-seconds and would also go on to win the 200 backstroke (2:03.03). She was also part of the winning 200 freestyle relay with fellow seniors Brittney Beetcher, Olivia Sapio, and Lawton.
Beetcher would also win on of her specialty events, the 500 freestyle. Beetcher would win by nearly 28-seconds in a time of 5:01.06.
Lawton would go on to win the 50 freestyle (23.39-seconds) and the 100 fly (56.03-seconds).
THE DIVING WELL
The Bulls had one official diver on Saturday afternoon. Victoria Franz won both the 3-meter and 1-meter dives with scores of 340.28 and 298.05, respectively. Louise Bradley along with seniors Journi Northorp and Isobel Holcomb were also in action, but did not count toward the meet's points. Northorp scored a season-best 281.78 in the 3-meter and a 258.08 in the 1-meter. Holcomb scored a 200.55 in the 1-meter and a 227.25 in the 3-meter.

The Bulls will be off for a few weeks as they prepare for the Mid-American Conference Championships. This year's championships will take place in Ypsilanti, Mich. as Eastern Michigan University will host the three-day championships. Day one of the Championships is Thursday, April 15 and will run through Saturday, April 17.
