Lexi Bernard Signs NLI for Cross Country and Track

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo track and field team announced the signing of Lexi Bernard on Tuesday morning. The program is excited about his national letter of intent as Bernard will be competing for the Bulls cross country and track & field distance squad in starting in the 2022-23 campaign. She will be majoring in biomedical sciences during her time at UB.
From South Lewis High School, Bernard's strength in cross country shined this fall season, where she placed second at the NYS Class D Championships, 16th at the NYS Federation Championships, and 20th at the Eastbay Northeast Championships. On the track, her strengths lie in the distance events boasting a personal best of 10:10.20 in the 3,000-meter run. She will have an immediate impact with our program in both cross country and track & field.
"Lexi is going to be an exciting student-athlete for our program," stated Head Coach Vicki Mitchell. "Not only does she bring a strong mindset and high degree of talent, but she also brings excellence in the classroom and a desire to be pushed, to grow, and to learn. She comes from a great family, and she's excited to join the program next fall and continue her development. Lexi plans to major in biomedical sciences.
