
Bulls Stay Put in Third Place After Day Two of the Zippy Invite

AKRON, Ohio – The University at Buffalo women's swimming and diving team (2-0, 2-0 MAC) finished day two of the Zippy Invite in third place with 1,017 points.
Prior to the finals, Jillian Lawton broke the program record in the 100 fly during the prelims. She finished in a time of 53.40-seconds, good for third place and a spot in the championship finals.
The first relay of the night was the 200 medley relay where the Bulls finished in third place in a time of 1:39.11. Mia Naccarella, Katie Pollock, Jillian Lawton, and Toni Naccarella started the night strong for the Bulls. Maddy McDonough, Michaela Morgus, Amanda Neeb, and Ellie Duley finished in eighth place in 1:43.16.
Freshman Taeghen Brezovski won the 400 IM B-Final in 4:24.28, ninth overall.
Two Bulls qualified for the 100 fly championship finals. Lawton finished in fourth place in 53.73-seconds with Clarice Fisher finishing in 54.42-seconds, good for seventh place. Freshman Amanda Neeb won the B-Final in 54.63-seconds, as Duley finished 12th overall in 55.55-seconds.
T. Naccarella continued her dominance in freestyle events as she finished second in the 200 freestyle in 1:48.69. Marij van der Mast finished sixth overall with a time of 1:50.59. Three Bulls qualified for the B-Finals with Swayer Bosley (ninth place, 1:49.26), M. Naccarella (10th place, 1:50.67), and Abbey Malmstrom (13th place, 1:51.62) getting valuable points for the Bulls.
Pollock made another finals appearance as she finished third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.03. Brezovski finished 12th overall in a time of 1:02.92.
Three Bulls made the 100 backstroke finals as M. Naccarella led the way with a fifth place finish in 54.94-seconds. Lawton claimed seventh (55.47-seconds) with McDonough finishing eighth (55.62-seconds).
In the diving well, the Bulls were well represented as three of the eight finals spots were taken by UB in the 3-meter dive. Victoria Franz finished second in the event with a score of 301.35. Freshman Marialis Kwak claimed fifth with 267.75 points. Patricia Arceri finished in seventh place with a score of 257.90.
