
Bulls Sweep Saturday Action

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo won both of their matches on Saturday defeating Mercyhurst and Binghamton by identical 7-0 scores.
The Bulls first matched up with the Lakers where they took the early doubles point with wins at two and three. Azra Deniz Comlek and Hsin-Yuan Shih won 6-2 at second doubles and Lolina Schietekat Sedas and Ambre Amat had a 6-0 win at three.
Shih won at first singles, while Comlek came away with a 6-0, 6-2 win at two. Gabriella Akopyan scored a straight sets win at third singles, while Amat won 6-2, 6-2 at four. Nikoleta Antoniou-Karademitrou won 6-1, 6-4 at five and sophomore Mariana Carvajal Torres won 6-2, 6-2 at six.
In the nightcap against Binghamton, Antoniou-Karademitrou and Pia Schwarz had a 6-2 win at first doubles, while Amat and Schietekat Sedas won 6-1 at two. Shih and Comlek completed the doubles sweep with a perfect 6-0 win.
The Bulls again rolled through singles as Shih won at one, 6-3, 6-2. Comlek had a 6-2, 6-3 win at two and Amat completed the 6-4, 6-1 victory at three. Akopyan dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win at four, while Torres won 6-2, 6-0 at five. Antoniou-Karademitrou completed the sweep with a 6-0 ,6-0 win at six.
Buffalo concludes the fall season in two weeks when the Bulls host the UB Fall Invite beginning on November 5.
