BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo track & field and cross country Head Coach Vicki Mitchell announced the signing of Josh Forrest to a National Letter of Intent on Thursday morning. Forrest will join the Bulls for the 2021 campaign after finishing his high school career.
The University at Buffalo track & field and cross country program is excited to bring Josh Forrest to the men's cross country and distance team next fall. Forrest is a native of Collingswood, N.J., attending Collingswood High School where he has been a stand-out distance runner. This past fall cross country season, he competed at the East Coast Cross Country Championships at Holmdel Park, where he placed 22nd out of 108 of the best high school runners in the east. In addition, he ran a very strong 5,000-meter on the track in 15:23.65. Forrest plans on majoring in communications during his athletic career at the University at Buffalo. He possesses the skill set needed to continue to grow and develop over his career and he will fit in well with the depth of our men's distance program.
"Josh's improvement through unique adversity shows how driven he is to be successful as a student-athlete," stated Associate Head Coach for men's distance, Todd Witzleben. "I look forward to the opportunity to help him achieve his goals over the next four years."
