ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Buffalo sophomore jumper Shevaughn Allen will represent the University at Buffalo track and field team at the 2020 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday evening as he is slated to compete in the triple jump.
The 2020 Mid-American Conference triple jump champion and First Team All-MAC honoree is undefeated this season in the event while breaking the school record twice this indoor season. Allen is the Bulls' first NCAA Indoor qualifier since Jon Jones and Mike Morgan both earned First Team All-American Honors in 2015 where Jones competed in shot put and Morgan competed in the heptathlon.
The school record holder ranks 11th in the NCAA with a distance of 16.09 meters. Allen will be competing against athletes from Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, Florida, TCU, Oregon and other prominent track and field programs.
This weekend will cap off an impressive indoor season for Allen. Men's triple jump action will start at 7 p.m. EST.
The University of New Mexico will host year's championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, N.M. The championships will stream live on ESPN3 starting at 7:15 p.m. EST on Friday, March 13 and 6 p.m. EST on Saturday, March 14. There will be a re-air of the championships starting at 9 p.m. EST on Monday, March 16 on ESPNU.
