BUFFALO, NY – The Mid-American Conference announced on Wednesday that the University at Buffalo football team has officially clinched the MAC East Division title and will play in the Conference's Football Championship Game, scheduled for Friday, Dec. 18 at Ford Field in Detroit. The game will be played at 7:30 pm EST on ESPN.
The Bulls will play the winner of Saturday's Western Michigan at Ball State game, scheduled for noon.
Prior to Tuesday, Dec. 8 COVID-19 institutional testing, potential scenarios existed concerning rescheduled games that did not allow the Conference to declare UB East Division Champions.
The Bulls will be making their third appearance in the MAC Championship Game and second in the last three seasons. UB defeated Ball State to win the 2008 MAC title and lost to Northern Illinois in 2018.
Buffalo is 4-0 and ranked 24th in the latest Associated Press poll. The Bulls will conclude the regular season on Saturday afternoon when it hosts Akron at UB Stadium. The game is scheduled to kick off at 2:30 pm and will air on the CBS Sports Network.
