
Buffalo to Host Akron and Duquesne on Senior Day

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo women's swimming and diving team (3-2, 3-1 MAC) will honor their seniors on Saturday, Feb. 1 as the team will host MAC preseason favorite Akron (5-1, 4-0 MAC) and Duquesne (7-1, 6-1 Atlantic 10). The meet will start at 1 p.m. with a senior recognition ceremony beginning at 12:45 p.m. in the Alumni Arena Natatorium.
HISTORY
The Bulls are 12-6 all-time against the Akron Zips with UB's last win coming in November of 2016. UB will have a tough test against the Zips as they have won the last six MAC Championships. UB looks to stay undefeated against Duquesne as the Bulls are 4-0 against the Dukes with their last win coming in the 2009-10 season in a 137.5-75.5 victory.
LAST TIME OUT
In the Bulls' last meet, they defeated Toledo by a score of 192-108 where UB won 12 of the 16 events. The team improved to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in MAC play.
Roitenberg had a career day as she won two individual events and was part of the winning 200 medley relay team. Roitenberg won the 100 and 200 back. She finished the 100 back in 55.55 while completing the 200 back with her season-best time of 2:00.72.
The team of Roitenberg, Katie Pollock, Jillian Lawton and Antonia Naccarella won the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:43.87. This marked the Bulls' second-best time on the season.
Naccarella (51.98) and Katelyn Burns (52.04) surged to a first and second place finish in the 100 free. Brittney Beetcher won the 400 IM in 4:26.20, her second-best time on the season.
In the diving well, UB claimed the podium in the 3-meter dive as Victoria Franz (279.75), Patricia Arceri (256.35) and Journi Northorp (236.40) finished first, second and third.

The Bulls will be off until they host this year's Mid-American Conference Swimming and Diving Championships from Wednesday, Feb. 26 through Saturday, Feb. 29 in the Alumni Arena Natatorium.
