BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo men's cross country runner Caleb Covell was named Cross Country Athlete of the Week by the Mid-American Conference after his 29th place performance at the Coast-To-Coast Battle in Beantown in Boston, MA. Covell finished the 8k race in 24:56.3. Covell competed in a highly competitive field as he raced against highly ranked Syracuse, Army, Stony Brook, Harvard, Washington and Navy. His 29th place finish out of 178 runners will help him and his teammates for the NCAA Northeast Regionals as they will face 11 of the 21 teams from Boston in mid-November.
The Rochester, NY native has now earned this honor twice this season, matching his total from a season ago.
Covell and his teammates look to take this momentum to Bethlehem, PA as they will compete in the Paul Short Invite, hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday, October 5 at 9 a.m.
