
Covell Named Men’s MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo men's cross country runner Caleb Covell was named Men's Scholar Athlete of the Week by the Mid-American Conference. Covell claimed the silver medal at the Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon. He completed the 8k race in a time of 25:26.6. His second place finish is his personal best at the MAC championships, as he had finished in fourth place a year ago. Covell helped his teammates to a third place team finish. Their third place finish ties the UB men's best finish at the MAC Championships since 2016.
The Rochester, NY native holds a 3.225 GPA as he plans on majoring in mechanical engineering.
Covell and his teammates look to take this momentum to the NCAA Northeast Regionals. The University at Buffalo will host the regionals at the Audubon Golf course on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m.
