Bulls Look to Make a Statement at the Paul Short Invite

BUFFALO, NY β After having a week off, the University at Buffalo cross country teams will head to Bethlehem, PA for the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday.
At last year's Paul Short Invitational, the women's team finished ninth out of 44 teams in the Brown Women's 6k race. Returners Riley Jones (51st place β 22:53), Meghan LaTuso (140th place β 23:51) and Sajora Rao (272nd place - 25:36) will look to carry their veteran experience in this race from a year ago to their young squad. There will be a heavy dose of competition as last year's race had 349 total runners in this selected 6k race.
In the Gold Men's 8k race a year ago, the men's team finished 13th out of 41 teams. Caleb Covell finished the race in 24:53 as he scampered to a 24th place finish. William Hilbert (44th place β 25:13), Cal Puskar (92nd place β 25:35) and Thomas Flannery (117th place β 25:45) also had impressive races as they were in a race with a total of 194 runners.
Both squads will look to improve at this year's races as many of the schools participating will be at the NCAA Northeast Regional in mid-November.
