BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo football head coach Lance Leipold has announced some shuffling to his coaching staff responsibilities. Quarterbacks coach Jim Zebrowski will join Andy Kotelnicki as co-offensive coordinator. Roc Bellantoni has been named special teams coordinator and Taiwo Onatolu will join him as co-special teams coordinator.
Zebrowski is in his second season with the Bulls and will continue to coach the quarterbacks. Zebrowski's impact was immediately felt a season ago when the Bulls passed for a school-record 3,490 yards and led the Mid-American Conference in passing yards per game despite starting three different quarterbacks due to injuries. Zebrowski will share play-calling duties with Kotelnicki, who has served as offensive coordinator since his arrival in 2015. Kotelnicki also coaches the running backs.
After serving as director of player personnel in 2017, Bellantoni was named the defensive ends coach in January when the NCAA approved a 10th assistant coach position. Bellantoni will also now serve as special teams coordinator.
Onatolu, who also serves as cornerbacks coach and coached the specialists in 2017, will now work with Bellantoni as co-special teams coordinator.
Buffalo is coming off a season in which it finished 6-6 and earned bowl eligibility for just the third time in school history. The 2018 season begins on September 1 against Delaware State at UB Stadium.
