BUFFALO, NY - After placing 5th (women) and 6th (men) in the 2015 season, the Bulls are returning 32 to the roster to disprove the preseason rankings. Coach Vicki Mitchell is excited to hit the terrain with her team's first meet set to begin on Saturday, September 3rd at the Colgate Harry Lang Invitational.
After an exciting rookie campaign, Chardae Henry returns for her second season and continues to be a top runner for the Bulls. She was a driving force in the 2015 season when she placed in the Top-40 in six of the seven races she competed in, placing 2nd overall at the UB Stampede.
Joining Henry is senior, Amy Shaw. Shaw is looking to improve on her already impressive repertoire from last year. She had a notable 13th place finish at the MAC Championships, 32nd place finish at the NCAA Regionals (third best in program history), and a spot on the 2015 ALL-MAC 2nd Team.
Also returning to the roster are seniors Corinne Birchard, Caroline Brown, Meagan Hopkins, and Melinda Wheeler; juniors Laura Libruk and Morgan Mahoney; and sophomores Rachel Barich, Jill Decker, Brittany Fuller, Nina Jacobsen, Lauren Reyda, Caroline Rusch, and Carlye Stella.
On the men's side, the Bulls are looking to their upperclassmen to lead the way. Senior, Barrett Kemp, is looking to turn heads this year after a strong finish placed him in the Top-30 at the 2015 NCAA Regionals. Jack Jibb, a sophomore for the Bulls, is hoping to have yet another successful season. Coach Mitchell believes the sophomore is past the rookie jitters and is expecting great things from him this upcoming season.
Also returning for the Bulls are seniors Brian Crimmins, Craig Kaiser, and Tyler Scheving; juniors Andrew Berge, John McCarthy, Tom Meehan, and Justin Van Epps; and sophomores Itai Bezherano, Adam Hunt, and Dan Muldoon.
Mitchell is looking forward to the strong leadership from the upperclassmen in pacing the Bulls to a successful 2016 campaign.
