Bulls Sweep ASA College To Remain Undefeated

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York women's tennis team remained undefeated on Friday afternoon with a 7-0 victory over ASA College. The victory improves the Bulls to 3-0 in dual action.
The Bulls got off to a quick start to the competition with a pair of wins in doubles. The number two team of Tanja Stojanovska and Chantal Martinez Blanco won their contest 6-1 and then the number one team of Margarita Kotok and Dayana Agasieva won 6-3 to clinch the point.
In singles play the Bulls won all six matches in straight sets. Junior Laura Holterbosch won first at fourth singles with a 6-2, 6-3 victory followed by a win at second singles from Martinez Blanco, 6-1, 6-1. Freshman Mercedes Losada Rubio clinched the match for the Bulls with a win a sixth singles, 6-3, 6-4, while fellow freshman Sanjana Sudhir won at fifth singles, 6-4, 6-3. The Bulls completed the sweep as Stojanovska won at first singles, 6-0, 7-6 (6) and Kotok won at third singles, 6-3, 6-4.
The Bulls are back in action tomorrow afternoon when they host Niagara at 1:00 pm at the Miller Tennis Center.
