
Bulls End Season With 3-0 Loss At Miami (OH)

OXFORD, OH – The University at Buffalo volleyball team saw their 2016 season come to an end on Saturday with a 3-0 loss at Miami (OH). With the victory, the RedHawks clinched the 2016 MAC Regular Season Championship. The Bulls ended the season at 4-25 and 3-13 in league play.
Miami took the contest 25-12, 25-16, 25-16 as the RedHawks outhit the Bulls, .330 to .093.
Sophomore Megan Wernette led the Bulls with nine kills, while senior Amber Hatchett, playing in her final career match, had six kills and a pair of digs.
Junior Cassie Shado had just three kills on the night, but she finished the season with a .400 hitting percentage, just the second player in school history to hit at least .400 in a year.
Freshman Scout McLerran had 23 assists in the match and finished her first year with 1,005 assists.
Defensively, freshman Maddie Torbeck led the Bulls with 13 digs, while fellow freshman Hannah Watson added nine digs.
The Bulls will return the majority of their team in 2017 as this year's squad feature just one senior and one junior.
