
Men's Tennis Completes Weekend with 4-3 Win over Boston College

NEW HAVEN, CT - With their 4-3 win over Boston College, the UB men's tennis team finished the weekend with a 3-0 record after defeating Yale and Monmouth on Saturday. Four of the six singles matches went to a third set before they were able to clinch the victory. Artur Culicovschi was victorious in the deciding singles match, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. He won the final game of the third set without giving up a point to his opponent.
The Bulls started the match off well by winning the doubles point. Amar Hromic and Pablo Alvarez won 6-3 in No. 1 doubles, while Sergio Arevavillo and Ethan Nittolo defeated Mukai/Melvin, 6-2.
Sergio Arevalillo defeated his opponent in straight sets in No. 4 singles, 7-5, 7-5. Alvarez stormed back after dropping the first set to win the second set, 6-2, and third set, 6-1.
"It was another solid weekend," Lee Nickell said after the Bulls' third win on the weekend. "I am happy for Artur to get that win and also very proud of our seniors, two of whom were fighting injury."
UB is back in action next weekend when they travel to NJIT on Saturday and Princeton on Sunday.
