SAN DIEGO, CA - The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, softball team fell 2-0 to San Diego on Thursday afternoon as the Bulls dropped to 7-18 on the year.
San Diego scored single runs in the first and the fourth against freshman Charlotte Miller. UB scattered four hits over the seven innings and had its chances to score, including the top of the third when senior Alexis Curtiss moved to third with two outs.
"I always preach timely hitting and today we missed out on a few offensive opportunities that could have changed the game," said head coach Trena Peel. "I'm pleased that we played a solid seven innings defensively and Charlotte pitched very well for us"
Miller picked up the loss in the circle despite allowing just two runs, while walking one and striking out a pair. Freshmen Kelsey Johnson and Danielle Lallos, as well as senior Hayley Barrow, joined Curtiss in the hit column.
The Bulls conclude their Spring Break trip tomorrow evening with a doubleheader at Cal Poly. The first game begins at 8:00 pm EST.
