Bulls Swept By Cal St. Fullerton

FULLERTON, CA – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, softball team lost a pair of games to Cal St. Fullerton on Tuesday night, dropping the opener 8-0 and then falling in the nightcap, 8-4.
In the opener the Bulls were held to just two hits in five innings as the Titans used a six-run second inning to take control of the game. Cal St. Fullerton scored two more in the fifth before the game was called.
The Bulls got hits from junior Kenzie Koch and Savanna Norcio in the game. Senior Hayley Barrow picked up the loss as she allowed 10 hits and eight runs in 4.2 innings pitched.
UB played better offensively in the second game of the double dip as it trailed 1-0 into the second when Barrow opened the inning double down the left field line and then came in to score on a single to left field from freshman Danielle Lallos.
Fullerton scored one in the third and three more in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead before UB answered with a three-spot in the top of the fifth. Senior Alexis Curtiss doubled to center field as she drove in Leandra Jew and junior Lauren Gambone drove in a pair with a single to pull UB within 5-4. However, the Titans answered with three in the bottom half of the inning and won 8-4.
Redshirt sophomore Bobbi Langlois picked up the loss as she allowed 11 hits and eight runs, but just five of those were earned. Curtiss went 3-for-4 from the plate and Jew also had a multi-hit game going 2-for-3. Norcio walked three times in the game.
The Bulls play two more games tomorrow as they face Harvard at Loyola Marymount at 1:00 pm and then they face the host LMU at 3:00 EST.
