Bulls Split Two On Saturday

NORTHRIDGE, CA – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, softball team split two games on Saturday as UB fell to Colorado State, 8-0, and then defeated Cal State Northridge in the night cap, 5-1.
In the opener, UB was shutout despite outhitting the Rams, 7-6. Ashton Earnhardt led UB with a 2-for-3 performance from the plate. Senior Hayley Barrow picked up the loss in the circle.
In game two, the Bulls jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first as the Bulls got three straight doubles from Earnhardt, Barrow and senior Alexis Curtiss. UB extended its lead in the fourth as freshman Danielle Lallos hit a three-run home run to left field to give the Bulls a 5-0 advantage. Cal State Northridge scored one in the fifth, but that was it.
Bobbi Langlois picked up her third win of the season in the circle as she struck out four in seven innings. Curtiss went 2-of-3 from the plate, one of six UB batters to get a hit.
"I was disappointed with our relief pitching in game one. It's ironic that we managed to get run ruled when we out hit Colorado State," said Trena Peel. "I'm happy that we bounced back and played error free defense against Northridge. Bobbi was relentless in the circle. This game was a big win for us because Northridge is a very well coached team.
UB will face Iona tomorrow morning at 12:00 pm EST.
