UB Women's Tennis Team Aces Niagara, 7-0

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York women's tennis team blanked visiting Niagara, 7-0, Sunday afternoon at Miller Tennis Center.
The Bulls (3-4) took the top two doubles matches from the Purple Eagles (3-4) to secure the doubles point and suspend the third match.
Sophomore Margarita Kotok and junior Dayana Agasieva swept Niagara at first doubles, 6-0, while sophomore Laura Holterbosch and senior Laura Fernandez teamed together for a 6-4 second doubles victory. Freshmen Tanja Stojanovska and Christine Haraldson led their third doubles match, 4-3, before it was called.
Stojanovska aced Iva Celan at top singles, 6-0, 6-0, and Kotok claimed a 6-2, 6-1 second singles win over Ashley Ta. Agasieva took Paulina Velasquez in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, at the third position, while at four Fernandez outdid Stella Peisakhova, 6-3, 6-4. Holterbosch had the lone three-setter of the match at fifth singles. She outlasted Maria Ortiz, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (5). Freshman Doris Aleksovska closed out the match with a 6-4, 6-3 win at sixth singles.
The Bulls will next host Binghamton Saturday, March 7 at 1 pm.
