UB Women's Tennis Wins Second Straight, Defeats Binghamton

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York women's tennis team posted a 6-1 victory over Binghamton Saturday at Miller Tennis Center. The Bulls (4-4) won seven of the nine matches against the Bearcats (6-5) to secure their second straight victory.
At doubles, junior Dayana Agasieva and senior Laura Fernandez picked up a 6-4 victory at first singles, while freshmen Tanja Stojanovska and Christine Haraldson won a 7-5 third-doubles match against the Bearcats.
Sophomore Margarita Kotok won the top singles match, 6-3, 6-1, over Alexis Tashiro. At second singles, Stojanovska blanked Katherine Medianik, 6-0, 6-1. Agasieva defeated Shea Brodsky at three, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1. Fernandez outlasted Annie DiMuro at fourth singles, 6-0, 2-6, 6-4, and Haraldson edged Olga Ostrovetsky, 6-4, 7-5, at the sixth spot.
The Bulls return to action on Saturday, March 14 at the College of Charleston at 10 am.
