
UB Women's XC Team Races to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Praise

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York women's cross country team was named one of 226 Division I United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Teams announced Wednesday.
"I am very proud of the academic commitment and success that our women continue to demonstrate," praised director and head coach Vicki Mitchell. "We take great pride in their academic and athletic achievements."
The squad combined for a 3.27 GPA. UB placed six on the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, while senior Corinne Birchard was named a MAC Distinguished Scholar.
For the third straight year, the Bulls raced to a seventh-place finish out of 12 teams at the MAC Championships on Nov. 1st. The team concluded its season with a 19th-place finish out of 40 teams at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Nov. 14.
NCAA teams must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average to be named to a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.
