
Megan Lipski Named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week

BUFFALO, NY –University at Buffalo, The State University of New York senior Megan Lipski has been named volleyball's MAC East Defensive Player of the Week following a two-match stretch that saw her put up the best defensive numbers of her career. This is the second time Lipski has been honored by the MAC as she was named Offensive Player of the Week in 2014.
Lipski finished with the first two 20-dig performances of her career this past weekend, including a career-high 26 digs against Western Michigan, the most by a UB player this season. Lipski had 46 digs over the course of the weekend as she added 20 digs in the five-set loss at Northern Illinois. She also added 30 kills, including 18 against the Huskies. On serve receives, she had just one error in 64 total attempts.
Lipski has recorded six double-doubles in the eight conference matches so far this season. Two weeks ago, Lipski averaged 16.5 kills and 18.5 digs as the Bulls split road matches at Miami (OH) and Bowling Green.
For the season, Lipski leads the Bulls with 223 kills and 229 digs. Her kill per set and dig per set numbers are career-highs as well as her assist total on the year.
Lipski and the Bulls return to the road this weekend, beginning on Friday evening at Eastern Michigan.
