
UB Downed By MAC-Leading Ohio, 3-0

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York volleyball team ran into a red-hot Ohio squad on Saturday evening and the Bulls fell to the Bobcats, 3-0, at Alumni Arena. The Bobcats have now won nine straight matches, including all six in MAC play, while the Bulls fell to 2-4 in the conference.
Ohio hit .310 overall for the night, opposed to just .163 for UB and the Bobcats also had a solid night at the service line, recording 16 service aces.
Filling in at setter tonight, freshman Madison Clark recorded a career-high 25 assists, while adding a kill, a service ace and four digs. Fellow freshman Valisha Watkins led UB with nine kills on the evening and 11 digs.
Sophomore Tessa Ooyama led the Bulls with 14 digs, while freshman Abby Beecher added eight. For the first time this year, freshman Kelly Fitzpatrick saw action, recording a pair of digs.
The Bulls will remain home next weekend when they host a pair of MAC West rivals, beginning with Western Michigan on Friday evening. The match against the Broncos will be Spirit Day where fans are encouraged to support the Buffalo LGBTQ community and take a stand against bullying.
