
UB's Bishop Named MAC East Co-Offensive Player Of The Week

BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo junior outside hitter Tahleia Bishop has been named the Mid-American Conference East Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon. This is the second time in three weeks Bishop has received the honor and third time for her career.
Bishop hit .288 in a 3-0 week for the Bulls, leading Buffalo to its strongest MAC start in program history. Bishop tallied 50 kills, averaging 5.56 kills over nine sets, as UB blanked three straight opponents in Niagara, Bowling Green and Miami (OH). She posted nine kills in the third set against both BGSU and Miami to lead UB to straight-set victories. Defensively, Bishop added 29 digs, finishing with a double-double of 18 kills and 14 digs against the RedHawks.
Bishop leads the Bulls with 257 kills through the first 16 matches, while hitting .256 on the season. She ranks second on the team with 164 digs. Bishop currently leads the MAC and sits 10th nationally in kills per set at 4.67 and ranks 16th in Division I with 5.1 points per set. Her 257 total kills are the most in the conference and the 12th-most in the nation.
The Bulls, who have won five straight and 10 of their last 11 matches, will hit the road for weekend conference contests at Ohio and Kent State.
