BUFFALO, NY – After earning just their second Mid-American Conference regular season championship in program history, the State University of New York, Buffalo women's soccer team (14-2-3, 9-0-2 MAC) continues their search for a MAC Tournament championship on Friday afternoon in the conference semifinal round.
The Bulls will play host to No. 4 seeded Ball State at 4:00 pm on Friday with the other semifinal contest featuring No. 6 Western Michigan and No. 7 Northern Illinois to follow at 7:00 pm. The winners of the two semifinal contests will meet on Sunday at noon at UB Stadium to fight for an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Admission for the semifinal and championship matches will be $10 for adults 17 years old and up, $7 for youth between the ages of 6-16 and free for all children five years old and under. All participating MAC school students with valid ID will also have free admission to the matches.

UB has earned a trip to the semifinals for just the third time in program history after a decisive 2-0 victory over eighth-seeded Toledo in the MAC quarterfinals on Sunday. Katie Roberts was credited for the game-winning goal after a great individual effort by Celina Carrero got Roberts in alone on the keeper. Andrea Niper also collected her first career goal in the victory.
The Bulls put their unbeaten home record (8-0-1) on the line on Friday afternoon against the Ball State Cardinals. The two teams met two weeks ago in Buffalo with the Bulls winning 2-1 in overtime on a penalty kick goal by MAC Player of the Year, Katie Roberts. UB fell behind 1-0 in the first half before Roberts netted a second half goal to force overtime and set the stage for her game-winner.
All-MAC teams and major award winners were announced on Thursday afternoon with UB becoming the first team in MAC history to collect all four major awards to go along with six all-conference performers and two All-Freshman team members. Roberts was named Player of the Year while Jackie Hall earned Defensive Player of the Year, Laura Dougall was named Freshman of the Year and Shawn Burke was recognized as Coach of the Year. Also receiving all-MAC accolades were Courtney Mann, Carrero and Sophie Therien while Dougall and Julia Benati were also named to the MAC All-Freshman squad.
