
Volleyball Closes Out 2014 Against Albany On Saturday Afternoon

BUFFALO, NY - The State University of New York, Buffalo volleyball team will take the court one last time in 2014 on Saturday afternoon as they host Albany at Alumni Arena at 1:00 pm. For those unable to attend, the match will also air nationally on ESPN3.
The Bulls are 16-15 on the season as they made their first trip to the MAC Tournament since 2010 as they claimed the eighth seed in the MAC, their highest ever seeding in the conference tournament. The Bulls fell 3-0 last Friday to the eventual conference champion, Western Michigan. Freshman Cassie Shado led the Bulls in the match with nine kills, while fellow freshman Niki Bozinoski had a team-high 17 digs.
Albany enters today's match with a 10-16 record, finishing 7-5 in the America East and reaching the conference tournament final before losing to New Hampshire, 3-1. They have three players with more than 200 kills on the season, led by 338 from Laini Leindecker. Amanda Dolan adds 239 kills, while Amy Hunter has 206. Mikala McCauley runs the offense with 869 assists. Defensively, Viktoriia Stroilo has 491 digs, while Leindeker adds 349 digs as well. Dolan is the leading blocker for the Great Danes with 104, averaging just over one block per set.
This will be the final match for seniors Sable Staller and Liz Scott.
