
Bulls Return Home; Host "Dig Pink" Event Saturday

BUFFALO, NY - The State University of New York, Buffalo volleyball team returns home to Alumni Arena for a pair of matches this weekend after being on the road for five of their last six matches. The Bulls will host Eastern Michigan on Friday night at 7 pm and then will host Central Michigan on Saturday evening at 7:30pm for its annual Dig Pink match.
Fans attending Saturday's match are encouraged to wear pink to show their support for breast cancer awareness. Members of the team will being wearing pink headbands and shoelaces, while facts about breast cancer will be read over the PA over the course of the match. This will continue a theme on Saturday from the UB Football game that will also be holding it's breast cancer awareness game.
On the court, it is an important weekend for the Bulls who enter with a 3-5 conference record, the same mark as Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan. Junior Tahleia Bishop continues to lead the Bulls with 278 kills and her 4.34 kills per set are first in the MAC. Fellow junior Megan Lipski is second on the team with 199 kills and 213 digs.
Junior Marissa Prinzbach leads the team with 553 assists, while sophomore Megan Lin has 302 assists and a team-high 23 service aces. Freshman Niki Bozinoski has 268 digs to lead the way, while junior Akeila Lain has a team-high 71 blocks, including 12 solos.
EMU is 12-10 and 3-5 in MAC play after splitting it's two matches last weekend against Miami and Bowling Green. Stacey Perinar leads the team with 272 kills, while Katie Krasowski is second on the team with 192. Jill Briner leads the team with 749 assists, while Corynne Smith has a team-high 378 digs. Megan Crawshaw leads the Eagles with 82 total blocks.
Central Michigan enters the weekend with an 8-12 record and a 3-5 mark in the MAC as it also split it's matches against BG and Miami last weekend. Jordan Bueter leads the Chippewas with 228 kills, while Kaitlyn McIntyre is second on the team with 216 kills. Kylie Copple leads the squad with 596 assists, while defensively Kristen Reenders has 362 digs. Angelique White leads Central Michigan with 89 blocks.
