Bulls Compete Saturday at UB Invitational, Singles Finals Set for Sunday

BUFFALO, NY – The State University of New York, Buffalo women's tennis team tallied seven victories Saturday on day two of the UB Invitational.
Sophomore Margarita Kotok and freshman Tanja Stojanovska will face each other Sunday in the Flight A singles final after tallying semifinal victories Saturday. Kotok defeated Niagara's Paulina Velasquez, 6-1, 6-1, while Stojanovska blanked Mathilde Orange of Cleveland State in identical fashion, 6-1, 6-1.
Junior Dayana Agasieva picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win over Victoria Bensimon of Cleveland State to earn a trip to the Flight B singles title match.
In doubles play, Stojanovska teamed with Agasieva to advance to the Flight A final on an 8-6 victory, before being edged 8-5 in the championship.
The duo of senior Laura Fernandez and sophomore Laura Holterbosch won Flight B doubles with an 8-2 semifinal win against Niagara and an 8-2 finals showing over CSU.
Kotok and freshman Christine Haraldson tallied a consolation doubles victory against the Vikings, 8-3.
The Bulls return to play at 10 am Sunday.
