Bulls Open 2015 Spring Season with 6-1 Victory at St. Bonaventure

ST. BONAVENTURE, NY – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York women's tennis team (1-0) opened its spring season with a convincing 6-1 victory Sunday at St. Bonaventure (0-2).
UB picked up the doubles point winning the second and third matches. At the number two spot, freshman Tanja Stojanovska and junior Dayana Agasieva paired together for a 6-3 victory, while sophomore Margarita Kotok and rookie Christine Haraldson claimed a 6-1 win at third doubles.
Stojanovska was victorious at first singles defeating Fatya Amiri, 6-2, 6-2. Kotok picked up a win at second singles with the same score over SBU's Mara Martinez-Santori.
At the number four spot, senior Laura Fernandez claimed a come-from-behind victory over Mariam Skhirtladze, 3-6, 6-3, 6-0. In her first collegiate competition, freshman Doris Aleksovska outlasted Bonaventure's Dominique Mortier, 6-2, 7-6 (4) at fifth singles. Closing out singles play was Haraldson blanking Francesca Chin, 6-0, 6-0, at the sixth position.
The Bulls return to action on Friday, Jan. 30 when they travel to El Paso Texas to take on New Mexico.
