
UB Volleyball To Hold "Dig Pink" Game Friday Night

BUFFALO, NY - Returning to Alumni Arena for the first time in two weeks, the University at Buffalo volleyball team will be holding it's annual Dig Pink game on Friday night against Northern Illinois. The arena will be decked out in pink, from the players right up to the lines on the game floor. The match will begin at 7:00 pm.
During the intermission, the volleyball team will honor breast cancer survivors and through out the event facts about breast cancer awareness and research will be given over the public address system.
The Bulls enter the weekend with a 15-4 record after splitting matches over the last three weekends to even their conference mark at 3-3. Sophomore Tahleia Bishop has been UB's best offensive threat as she leads the team in kills with 233. Senior Kelly Svoboda has 384 digs on the year, which is in the top five in the country and she also leads the team with 20 service aces. UB is in a stretch of just three home match during the month of October as it will go on the road for five straight after this weekend, ending the year with three at home.
Northern Illinois enters the match 11-9 on the season and 3-3 in the MAC, one of two straight 3-3 foes that UB will host this weekend. The Huskies have a pair of hitters with over 200 kills, led by 266 from Mackenzie Roddy. Justine Schepler leads NIU with 345 digs.
Both matches this weekend are free to the public and those attending on Friday night are encouraged to wear pink. On Saturday night, UB will host Western Michigan at 7:30 pm following the UB Football game against UMass.
