
Bulls Open Cleveland State Invite With 3-1 Loss To Host Vikings

CLEVELAND, OH – Despite winning the opening set, the University at Buffalo volleyball team dropped a 3-1 contest to Cleveland State, opening play at the Cleveland State Invite. The loss drops UB's record to 3-4 on the season.
Cleveland State took the contest 24-26, 25-21, 25-22, 25-14 as it outhit Buffalo .287 to .127. UB took the opening set 26-24 and were in contention for much of the next two sets, but were unable to take the lead from the Vikings.
Sophomore Liz Scott and junior Carissa McKenna each led the way for Buffalo with 11 kills, while Dana Musil added nine kills. Freshman Megan Lipski added seven kills and nine digs.
Junior Kelly Svoboda made her season debut this evening as she recorded 18 digs, tying for match-high honors. Dani Reinert added 10 digs and team-high 24 assists.
The Bulls continue action tomorrow at the Cleveland State Invite as they face Oakland at 10:00 am and Eastern Kentucky at 4:30 pm.
