BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo's men's tennis team saw its six-match winning streak snapped on Sunday afternoon, 4-3, to Binghamton on a windy day at the University Tennis Center. The Bulls are now 7-8 while the Bearcats improved to 9-11. The match lasted five hours and featured three third sets and two set tiebreakers.
UB picked up victories from its top three singles players. At first singles, Damien David became UB's top freshman victories leader with a three-set win over Alexandre Haggai. David recorded a 6-2, 5-7, 7-5 win for his 21st of the season, passing Mike Rockman's freshman mark of 20 set in 2003.
Vusa Hove threw a pair of eggs with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Ruben Devos in the second singles contest. Wojciech Starakiewicz needed three sets to defeat Ismael Dinia at third singles. Starakiewicz won 6-4, 6-7 (7), 6-4 for his 15th singles victory of the season in the senior's final home appearance for the Bulls.
