
UB Women's Cross Country Named as All-Academic Squad

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo's women's cross country teams have been named to the USTFCCCA NCAA Division I All-Academic Teams for the 2011 season, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced.
The UB women posted a 3.13 GPA for the fall 2011 semester, A total of 205 women's programs were named to the list including eight members of the Mid-American Conference. This is the fourth consecutive season that the women's team has been included on the list.
For a team to qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
"Our teams take great pride in their academic success. They value their education and their time as student-athletes. We are extremely proud of their successes," said UB cross country head coach Vicki Mitchell.
The UB women finished 25th among 36 programs at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships as the Bulls hosted the meet at the Audubon Golf Course.
