BUFFALO, NY - Sophomore Liz Scott was named to the All-MAC Second Team, the conference office announced on Thursday afternoon. Scott, who was named to the All-Freshman team last year, becomes the first UB player named to the second team since Abby Niekamp in 2010.
Scott led the team in kills this past year with 318, while also leading the squad with a .264 hitting percentage. Scott had three matches this past year with 20 or more kills, including a career-high 25 kills in a five-set win over Oral Roberts. Following that weekend, Scott was named the MAC East Offensive Player of the Week.
Overall, Scott had 18 matches with double figures in kills, including eight straight matches to end the season. She had four double-doubles, with 10 digs in four different matches.
"Liz had an outstanding season and this honor is well deserved for her," said head coach Todd Kress. "She still has two seasons left and I thnk the sky is the limit for what she can do here at Buffalo."
