
Bulls Finally Return Home To Face A Pair Of MAC West Foes

BUFFALO, NY - Having traveled just under 2,100 miles on bus the last two weeks, the University at Buffalo teams finally returns to Alumni Arena this weekend to begin a stretch of six its final eight matches at home. The Bulls will face Central Michigan on Friday night at 7:00 pm and then Eastern Michigan on Saturday night at 7:30 pm. Please note that the Saturday time is different than the initial scheduled time.
The Bulls are 7-13 on the year and 1-7 in the MAC, but have been in most the matches this season before falling late in the last few road contests. Sophomore Liz Scott leads the way with 218 kills, one of three players in triple figures for UB. Freshman Megan Lipski has 127 kills and junior Carissa McKenna has added 113.
Defensively, junior Dana Musil has 226 digs, while Kelly Svoboda has 218. Freshman Akeila Lain is currently second in the MAC in blocking with 90. Junior Dani Reinert continues to lead the team with 666 assists.
Central Michigan is 12-7 on the year and 6-2 in the MAC, having lost to Bowling Green last Saturday in five sets. Kaitllyn McIntyre leads the Chippewas with 256 kills, while Lindsey Dulude is second on the team with 203 kills. Defensively, Jenna Coates has a team-high 352 digs.
Eastern Michigan is 13-11 and 3-5 in the conference this season and it is coming off a weekend where it dropped home contests to Bowling Green and Miami. Rachel Iaquaniello leads the Eagles with 383 kills, while Kristen Baker is second on the team with 225 kills. Sierra Reed leads the team with 391 digs and Kim Hildreth has a team-high 598 assists.
The match between the Bulls and Eagles follows the UB football game vs. Pittsburgh. Anyone with a ticket to the football game can get in to the volleyball match for free.
