
Bulls Drop Tight Contest With North Florida, 4-3

JACKSONVILLE, FL – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team dropped an extremely competitive match with North Florida on Wednesday afternoon, 4-3.
The Ospreys took the doubles points, claiming the matches at second and third doubles. UB took the contest at first doubles as Diana Popescu and Miranda Podlas defeated Aline Berkenbrock and Simona Weymar, 8-6.
In singles play, UB won three contests, including at first singles where Popescu defeated Berkenbrock, 6-2, 6-4. Sophomore Kira Golenko picked up a victory at fourth singles as she defeated Melanie Aguirre, 6-1, 6-3. Picking up the other singles victory was sophomore Shelby Bates, who defeated Alison Viana in sixth singles, 6-0, 6-1.
The Bulls conclude play in Florida tomorrow when they face Long Island.
