
Women's Tennis Comes Up Short At Syracuse

SYRACUSE, NY - The University at Buffalo women's tennis team suffered its first spring defeat on Saturday afternoon, falling at Syracuse, 6-1. The loss evens UB's record to 2-2 on the season.
In doubles the Bulls picked up a victory at first doubles as senior Diana Popescu and freshman Miranda Podlas defeated Emily Harman and Maddie Kobelt, 8-6. It was UB's lone victory in doubles as they dropped the contests at second and third doubles.
The Bulls took three singles matches into three sets, winning one at fourth singles. Sophomore Kira Golenko defeated Aleah Marrow, 7-6, 3-6, 10-7. Popescu and Podlas both went three sets in their matches at first and sixth singles, respectively.
The Bulls are back in action on Friday when they play their fourth straight Big East team. The Bulls face Rutgers at 1:00 pm.
