BUFFALO, NY – Thanks to its strong finish against quality competition at last weekend's Penn State National Meet, the University at Buffalo men's cross country team moved up two spots to number 13 in the latest Northeast Regional rankings released by the USTFCCCA this week.
The Bulls finished sixth at the Penn State meet and moved past Boston College and Marist, ranked 14th and 15th, respectively in the previous poll. UB finished five spots ahead of 11th-place Marist at the Penn State meet. Iona remains first in the country holding the top spot since the beginning of the season.
"The men's team had a strong race at the Penn State National," said head coach Vicki Mitchell. "We are heading in the direction we want, pointing towards improvements at the MAC Championships and the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships. Our keys are to stay consistent, focused, and healthy."
Several of UB's B runners will compete this weekend at Cornell's Reif Invitational. The Bulls travel to Muncie, IN for the MAC Championships on October 29. UB hosts the Northeast Regional Championships on November 12.
