
Bulls Place Three on Men's Cross Country Academic All-MAC Squad

BUFFALO, NY – Three members of the University at Buffalo's men's cross country team have been named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team. Senior Jacob Hagen and juniors Dylan Conway and John Inzina were among the 15 runners named to the league's list released today.
Hagen, an exercise science major with a 3.250 grade point average, raced in five of UB's eight meets in 2010. He finished 22nd at the MAC Championships with season-best 8K time of 25:23.8. Hagen also placed 107th of 229 runners at NCAA Northeast Regionals with a 10K time of 32:16.2.
Conway, a mechanical engineering major with a 3.985 grade point average also competed in five meets. He finished 27th at MAC Championships in a season-best 8K time of 25:34.9. Conway was UB's second finisher at the NCAA Northeast Regionals as he took 52nd place with a 10K time of 31:22.6.
Inzina, an electrical engineering major with a 3.491 grade point average also saw action in five meets during the 2010 campaign. He placed 16th as UB's number two finisher at the MAC Championships with a season-best 8K time of 25:15.7. Inzina also finished 175th of 229 at the NCAA Northeast Regionals with a 10K time of 33:32.6.
The Bulls finished sixth among nine squads at the 2010 MAC Championships in Kalamazoo, MI and were 17th of 35 teams at the NCAA Northeast Regionals in Madison, CT.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award. Outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments from the current season only are considered. The Academic All-MAC team is voted on by the league's faculty athletic representatives.
