
Two Bulls Pick Up All-MAC Honors

KALAMAZOO, MI – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team placed two players on the postseason All-MAC team on Thursday night at the league's awards banquet. Senior Denise Harijanto was named first-team All-MAC for the second straight season, while Aleksandra Petrova was honored by the conference for the first time in her career as a second-team All-MAC selection.
Harijanto has played first singles and doubles for the Bulls as she is part of UB's regionally-ranked doubles squad with Petrova. Harijanto has a 17-14 record in singles this season and a 22-9 mark in doubles play. Harijanto has been named MAC Player of the Week once this season and she has won six of her eight MAC matches in singles play. Harijanto and Petrova won five of their eight MAC matches in doubles. Harijanto is already UB's all-time winningest doubles players and is two singles wins away from tying the school record for singles victories.
Petrova has improved this season as she is currently UB's number two singles player. Petrova is 17-10 on the season in singles as she has won four of her five matches at second singles. Before her transition to second singles, Petrova had been 7-4 at third singles for the Bulls. In doubles, she combined with Harijanto for a 15-4 mark. Overall Petrova has a 19-6 mark in doubles action.
The Bulls begin MAC Tournament play tomorrow morning as they face Toledo at 10:00 am. The Bulls are the fifth seed in this year's tournament.
