
Bushby Three Downs Bulls At Buzzer

ATHENS, OH – Ohio's Jennifer Bushby hit a three as time expired on Saturday afternoon, breaking a 58-58 tie, as the Bobcats defeated the Bulls, 61-58, at the Convocation Center. UB was able to erase a 12-point second half deficit, but could not hold on for the win.
Ohio opened an early 8-2 lead and was up 14-11 when the Bulls went on a 12-4 run to take their largest lead of the game at 23-18 with 6:50 left in the opening half. Back-to-back Jenny Poff threes put the Bobcats back up by one as they went on an 11-0 run to lead by six. UB would respond by ending the half with five straight points fromBrittany Hedderson as they went in to the half down one.
The Bulls were led by Brown's game-high 22 points and 14 rebounds, her 17th double-double of the season and her 11th 20-point game on the year. Brown now has 319 rebounds on the year, the second most in school history. Brown also added an assist, two blocks and a steal. Hedderson finished with 10 points and four rebounds, while Fortman had seven points and two boards. Dowd had six points on the day on 2-for-2 shooting from behind the arc. Sophomore Beth Christensen, who picked up her second straight start, tied her career-high with four blocks, while adding a career-high five assists. Christensen also had seven rebounds and three points.
The Bulls wrap up the regular season on Tuesday night as they host Kent State at 7:00 pm. Prior to the game the Bulls will honor their lone senior Dayna Smith.
