Bulls Conclude Home Non-Conference Play Tuesday Night

BUFFALO, NY - Following an eleven-day break to rest up and focus on exams, the Buffalo women's basketball team will be back in action Tuesday night against Big Four rival Niagara. It will be the third regional rivalry game for the Bulls in the past four and the team will look to post a winning record in the Big Four for the first time since 2006.
The last time out, the Bulls locked horns with St. Bonaventure in a defensive tug-of-war, ultimately falling 56-47. Kourtney Brown led the team with 17 points and seven rebounds in a losing effort. Buffalo shot 36.2 percent from the floor but held the Bonnies to 34.8 percent overall.
Brown continues to perform at a high level, ranking first in the Mid-American Conference in points (21.0) and rebounds (12.3). Nationally, the senior ranks in 13th place in points and third in rebounds. Brown is also sixth in the nation in field goal percentage making her the only player in the nation to sit in the top 15 in all three of those categories.
The Purple Eagles enter Tuesday night's game with a 1-8 record after losing to Albany, 63-47. Niagara has three players averaging double figures, led by Liz Flooks who recently scored her 1,000th career point. Flooks also leads the team in rebounds with 6.0. The team has been hampered by defensive struggles as it gives up almost 72 points per game, including a season-high 96 points allowed against Hofstra Dec. 9.
In the last meeting between the two teams, Brown had one of her best games ever as a Bull, scoring 33 points and hauling in 22 rebounds to lead the team to an 87-79 overtime win. Tipoff is set for 7 pm.
