
Kelly Svoboda Picks Up Second Straight MAC Weekly Accolade

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo volleyball freshman Kelly Svoboda has been named the MAC East Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week, the Mid-American Conference announced from their offices in Cleveland this morning. The honor is the third straight for UB.
Svoboda finished with 43 digs on the weekend, tying her career high with 25 at Akron on Thursday night in UB's five-set victory. Svoboda followed that performance up with 18 digs in a three-set loss at Toledo in the regular season finale. Svoboda also had a service ace in the win against the Zips.
Svoboda currently leads the Bulls with 436 digs, which is currently 10th in school history for digs in a single season. Svoboda also has 23 aces on the year and 63 assists. She has 83 digs in the last four matches alone.
Svoboda and the Bulls begin Mid-American Conference Tournament play on Tuesday night at Akron. The 10th-seeded Bulls take on the seventh-seeded Zips at 7:00 pm.
