
Carissa McKenna Named MAC East Defensive Player Of The Week

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo volleyball freshman Carissa McKenna has been named the MAC East Defensive Player of the Week, the Mid-American Conference announced from their offices in Cleveland this morning. The honor is the first in McKenna's career.
McKenna finished the weekend with 12 blocks, including a career-high seven blocks at Bowling Green. Against the Falcons, she had three solo blocks and four block assists. McKenna continued to shine at Miami (OH), where she added another five total blocks, including a solo. McKenna also added a career-best six kills against the RedHawks.
The West Bloomfield, MI native saw increased action this weekend and made the most of it, playing in all seven sets. McKenna also had four kills and no errors in eight swings against the Falcons, hitting .500. The three solo blocks are tied for the most by a UB player this season. She had six kills against the RedHawks, bettering her pervious high of five that she had against Air Force earlier this year.
McKenna and the Bulls are back in action this weekend as they host Ohio on Friday night at 7:00 pm and Kent State on Saturday at 5:00 pm. The match against the Golden Flashes is UB's final home match of the season.
