MOUNT PLEASANT, MI – The University at Buffalo volleyball team fell 3-0 to Central Michigan on Friday night at Rose Arena. The loss was UB's first 3-0 loss since Sept. 5 against Pittsburgh. UB is now 13-9 on the season and 4-5 in the MAC.
The Chippewas took the contest 25-12, 25-20, 25-20 as they hit .359 opposed to just .079 for UB. Dani Silvers had six kills, while three other players had four kills, including Marisa Hornbaker. Junior Lindsey Schlegel had three kills, 19 assists, six digs and three service aces, which upped her league total.
"The entire program is very disappointed in the effort we put forth in tonight's match," said head coach Todd Kress. "That effort led directly to the outcome of the game and you can't put forth that effort on the road in this conference and win. We have a quick turnaround and will look to be better tomorrow night."
Central Michigan was led by Lauren Krupsky, who had 11 kills and Lindsey Dulude who added nine digs. Stephanie Budde added a match-high 31 assists.
The Bulls are back in action tomorrow night as they head to Eastern Michigan. The match with the Eagles begins at 7:00 pm.
