Taji Johnson serves as the Mental Performance and Wellness Specialist for UB Athletics, where he is dedicated to supporting student-athletes in optimizing their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. In this role, Taji leads workshops, offers one-on-one mental performance coaching, and navigates within the Bulls Thrive Wellness Program—focusing on key pillars such as recovery, nutritional intake, mindset training, and mental health awareness.

A former Division I football player, Taji brings a unique blend of personal experience, professional training, and cultural awareness to his work. His background in Applied Psychology and Human Development, along with his commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and mental health advocacy, fuels his mission to help athletes perform at their best—both on and off the field of play.

Taji is a certified mandated reporter through the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and a certified member of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). He is deeply committed to upholding ethical excellence in all aspects of his work, ensuring that every student-athlete he supports is met with integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
