Gianna Fazzolari is in her first season as an assistant coach with the Buffalo softball program in 2026.

She spent the 2025 season as an assistant at Canisius after a stellar four-year career with the Golden Griffins.

In her first season at Buffalo, she helped the Bulls to a 24-win season in 2026. This was their most wins since the 2014 season when they won the MAC East Title with 30 wins. Third baseman Bri Delaney and outfielder Nicole Allen earned First-Team All-MAC honors as Abbey Nagel and Reagan Terwilliger were named to the Second Team. The four honors were the most in a single season in program history. Nicole Allen's program record 80 hits in a single season propelled her to earn National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First-Team All-Northeast Region honors. She is just the fourth Bull in program history to receive such honors.

The program's career home run leader with 30, Fazzolari was a three-time All-MAAC honoree at catcher, highlighted by a pair of first-team selections in 2022 and 2023.

In addition to the career home run mark, she holds the school records in career RBI (145), home runs in a single season (11) and consecutive games with a home run (6).

A native of Newfane, N.Y., Fazzolari was also a three-time MAAC All-Academic team honoree. She graduated from Canisius with a bachelor's degree in sports and exercise health care in 2024 and is currently working on her master's degree in exercise science.
